quick hat = cuuuuute!

here's a quick post to show off the hat i made from miss elsie cake's blog post:

it was quick and easy and F.U.N! i made a small modification to the pattern:
instead of braiding the ties, i started by chaining to make one tie, then joined it with a slip stitch to one side of the hat. then i slipstitched around the back edge of the hat around to the other side where i then chained down to make the other tie. then i slip stitched back up that tie (to make it extra strong and wide) and then slip stitched around the front edge of the hat and down the other tie and finished off.
this tightened up the back edge and the face edge and gave the hat an overall more fitted look and also make the ties just a bit sturdier i think... but it takes a while longer so if you are looking for quick then elsie's way is best.
THANKS ELSIE FOR THE IDEA AND PATTERN
AND FOR ALL OF YOUR INSPIRATION
- love your blog!
